We offer a two-year postdoctoral fellowship to lead a research project on emergency preparedness and response. This project will examine various emergency response systems worldwide, with a focus on civilian aspects, including the stages from emergency preparedness scenarios and plans to the actual handling of crisis/emergency/disaster situations both in the past and present, as well as the establishment of organizational processes and relevant legal infrastructure, all while considering the relevance of the research to the Israeli context.
The Center is particularly interested in researchers with proven research capabilities and relevant professional backgrounds in the fields of security, emergency management, civil society in Israel and/or other countries, and those capable of promoting collaboration between the academic and practical spheres in this field.
In addition to their personal research, the applicant must demonstrate the ability to integrate into an interdisciplinary research group. The research group will consist of leading researchers in the field, together with professional experts and relevant stakeholders outside academia.
Selected candidates will receive a postdoctoral fellowship of 90,000 NIS per year (for two years), and the research period will begin in the second semester of the 2024-2025 academic year and end at the conclusion of the first semester of the 2025-2026 academic year.
