Call for Doctoral Fellowships in the Field of Emergency Preparedness and Response
We offer a fellowship for doctoral students whose dissertation topic is related to emergency preparedness and response, with an emphasis on the relevance of the research to the Israeli context and/or international comparative research.
In addition to their personal research, doctoral students are required to actively participate in the research group operating at the James J. Shasha Center in areas related to the Center's interests, alongside other research students, professional experts, and relevant stakeholders.
Eligible candidates include students from the Hebrew University, or students from other higher education institutions in Israel who have been accepted to doctoral studies at the Hebrew University by July 2025 (and have secured a supervisor).
Successful candidates will receive a fellowship of 25,000 NIS per year (with the possibility of an extension for an additional year, subject to satisfactory progress in the research). Additionally, as determined by the Center's academic committee, there may be an option to grant an additional research grant that the fellow can use for research expenses, conference travel, etc. Funding may begin in the second semester of the academic year 2024-2025 or the first semester of the academic year 2025-2026.
