Professor Galia Press-Barnathan (PhD) is an associate professor at the Department of International Relations at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and the director of the Leonard Davis Institute for International Relations (also at the Hebrew University). Her research focuses on three clusters. The first deals with comparative regionalism, and especially in the dynamics of regional security cooperation, focusing on regional security arrangements in East Asia and in Europe and the role of the United States in designing regional security architecture. On this topic she published a book (Organizing the World- The US and Regional Cooperation in Asia and Europe) and articles in leading International Relations academic journals. The second cluster focuses on the links between economics, security and peace. On this she published a book (The Role of Economic Incentives in Transitions to Peace- A comparative Perspective), which examines cases from Asia, the Middle East and Europe. The third cluster of research deals with the role of popular culture in world politics. On this topic she has published articles and chapters, focusing on popular culture and conflict management and resolution, and identity politics.
