During the COVID-19 pandemic, the James J. Shasha Center presented a roadmap to the National Economic Council at the Prime Minister's Office and other sections within the office regarding short-, mid-, and long-term recovery strategies. Following this publication, the James J. Shasha Center was asked by the head of the National Economic Council to advise on the development of strategies regarding the COVID-19 crisis and to present its work to the deputy director generals of planning in government offices. Building on this experience, the James J. Shasha Center developed A Strategic Roadmap for Israel in the Aftermath of COVID-19 – From Crisis to Prosperity.
In 2022, the James J. Shasha Center conducted a workshop on “Laying the Groundwork in Preparation for Unexpected Crises.” Participants included representatives from the IDF Strategic Planning Department, the Research Department in the IDF Directorate of Military Intelligence, the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of Defense, the Deputy Head of the National Economic Council, delegates from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Intelligence, and former high-ranking officials from the Mossad.
