I am a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Sociology at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, under the guidance of Prof. Limor Samimian-Darash. I completed both my M.A. and B.A. in Sociology at Tel Aviv University.

My research examines the conceptualization, perception, implementation, and experience of civil evacuation formations during two wars in Israel: the ‘Iron Swords War’ (2023) and the Second Lebanon War (2006), during which several hundred thousand people evacuated from their homes across the border areas and remained away for different periods of time. Applying anthropological fieldwork research, I ask how the evacuation of citizens came to be an emergency preparedness response in Israel, and how it was implemented in both state and civilian led actions. Additionally, I ask how this mixture of preparedness practices affected people’s experiences of those emergencies.
